Use This 3-Step Dicing Method to Slice Through Any Vegetable
Every home cook should know how to turn a round thing into a square, a.k.a. learn to properly dice vegetables. Cutting a round vegetable into perfect cubes takes patience, but practicing on already roasted beets makes it a bit easier; a good knife will slide right through. Here’s how you do it:
1. Peel vegetable and cut off a thin slice from one side, creating a flat surface; rest on flat side and slice into ¼”-wide planks.
2. Arrange stacks of planks so they lie flat on board; trim rounded edges, then slice planks lengthwise into ¼” strips.
