The Real Deal Crab Cake, Same as It Ever Was
You could say crab cakes are in Nancy Faidley Devine’s blood. She was fated, as it were, to create possibly the most celebrated of the iconic crab cakes of Baltimore, Maryland. But then she took the future of Charm City’s crab cakes in her own hands—literally—and her customers have been thanking her ever since.
“I had one European gentleman say to me, ‘I don’t know what I’m eating, but it’s amazing!” Devine says at one of the standing-only tables in Faidley’s Seafood—which has its own large chamber in the Baltimore Lexington Market, dominated by a central raw bar.
