If every career arc had the trajectory of Randy Garutti’s, a lot more people would be lining up to work at food carts.
In 2004, while working as a restaurant general manager, Garutti, CEO of New York-based Shake Shack Inc., helped supply and sell dogs at the first Shake Shack — a hot dog cart operated by restaurateur Danny Meyer in New York’s Madison Square Park.
