A breakfast at Sadelle’s, Manhattan’s Major Food Group’s newest restaurant, requires a taste for the dramatic. Your coffee is poured from a silver pot-slash-urn, presented almost as if it’s free (it’s not), like you’re at a very exclusive club. Waiters wear pressed white shirts and bowties. The whole staff yells “hot bagels!” when a new batch is fresh out of the oven. But perhaps most dramatic of all is the moment when you look at the menu, see that a side of avocado is seven dollars, ask about it, learn that it’s just a sliced avocado finished with chili oil…
