BK Aids Literacy; Red Robin’s New Brew
FXISG-GRUKP WVIPPSK. That’s what a menu board may as well say for the 20% of the world’s population that can’t read. In observance of World Literacy Month and to raise awareness, The Burger King McLamore Foundation (named for chain founder James McLamore) has created a campaign to show how crippling illiteracy can be.
For a video, Burger King changed the drive-thru menu boards at one location to gibberish for one day. The film (which can be viewed here) captures the frustrations of diners unable to make sense of the menu.
