Beer O’clock, Cat Cafe, Hangry, and More Words Added to the Oxford English Dictionary

August 27, 2015

It’s almost wine o’clock.

Today, about a dozen new words were added to the Oxford English Dictionary. A perennial zeitgeist, the dictionary has added food words like banh mi, California roll, and doughnut hole in years past. barbacoa (noun): (in Mexican cooking) beef, lamb, or other meat that has slowly been cooked with seasonings, typically shredded as a filling in tacos, burritos, etc.

beer o’clock (noun): an appropriate time of day for starting to drink beer
