Arby’s Falls Victim to a Credit Card Breach
More than 350,000 debit and credit cards may have been compromised
Anyone who’s hit up a drive-thru window for a roast beef sandwich lately may want to check their bank statements: Arby’s is the latest restaurant chain to fall victim to a credit card breach.
The breach reportedly included data from more than 350,000 customer debit and credit cards, according to cybersecurity expert Brian Krebs, and is thought to have occurred sometime between October 2016 and January 2017. The incident only affected Arby’s corporate-owned stores, not franchise locations. (Corporate-owned stores make up approximately one-third of the company’s 3,000-plus U.S. stores.)
